November 9, 2000 Alcovy Watershed Protection Project Public Meeting
The goal of the November 9, 2000 Alcovy Public meeting was to provide the public with the study findings, provide an overview of the Plan recommendations, answer questions related to the Plan, and solicit input on Plan recommendations. The meeting opened with one-on-one discussions at information stations that illustrated implementation options. This was followed by an overview slide presentation on project findings and plan recommendations. Following the presentation, a group question/answer and discussion session was held. For the remainder of the meeting, attendees were given the opportunity to provide written or verbal comments. Attendees were asked to rank the following recommendations in order of personal importance, ranking the recommendations with 1st being the most important and 5th being the least important. General consensus was as follows:
- Community Outreach & Partnering - ranked 1st
- New Ordinances - ranked 2nd
- Decisions (such as land use, planning, etc.) based on Water Quality considerations - ranked 3rd
- Modify Ordinances/Enforce Existing Ordinances - ranked 4th
- Ongoing Monitoring (water quality sampling) - ranked 5th
